Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court here on Monday taking a strong exception to absence of witnesses of the BJP national general secretary and MlA Kailash Vijayverigya in the High Court on Monday in connection with a case related to alleged distribution of currency notes by him in 2013 Mhow assembly elections, has issued a bailable warrant against all witnesses directing them to remain present in the court on December 15 this month, failing which an arrest warrant would be issued against them.
The BJP general secretary while summoning himself before the High Court on November 25 last month, had submitted list of 25 witnesses before the High Court. However, after strong objection of the petitioner and Congress leader Antarsingh Darbar, a consensus was reached on 15 witnesses. The High Court after November 25 hearing had issues summons to all 15 witnesses asking them to remain present in the High Court on December 5. Out of these witnesses, 12 of them had already received summons but none of these witnesses turned up in the High Court on Monday.
Petitioner Antarsingh Darbar taking a strong exception of absence of these witnesses, on Monday accused Vijayvergiya of deliberately dragging the case. Subsequently, the High Court taking a serious note of the absences of witnesses, on Monday issued a bailable warrant against all 12 witnesses directing them to essentially remain present in the court on December 15 this month, failing which an arrest warrant would separately be issued against them.
The BJP general secretary after repeated reminders by the High Court, finally showed up the High Court on November 25 to record his statement in connection with the case related to violation of the model code of conduct by the by him during an election rally in Mhow in 2013 assembly elections.
