The Doon University is organising a ten-day workshop on research methodology for PhD students from March 14. The course is fully sponsored by the Indian Council for Social Sciences Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
The objective of the course is to develop research capabilities among Ph D Research Students Senior academicians and practitioners from across India are invited to deliver talks and share academic case studies during the course of the workshop.
Students will be taught how to prepare a sound research proposal, will be given Field work training and trained how to process and read data and how to interpret the data. Preparation of the final research report will also be part of the workshop. The course will be open to all Ph D Students of social science disciplines in research institutions, colleges and university postgraduate departments. Preference will be given to Schedule Tribe (ST) candidates. The Ph D Students (doing their course work) in the area of social sciences in any Indian University/ Institute are eligible to apply for the Workshop.
Only shortlisted candidates will be able to join the course based on the merit of the research proposal they are submitting along with the application form. The application forms can be downloaded from official website of Doon University, www.doonuniversity.ac.in. The workshop will be held at the conference hall, Administrative block, Doon University. The course workshop will be hosted by Centre for Public Policy, Doon University Prof (Dr) RS Tolia, Chair Professor, NTPC shall be the Course Director and Dr Sudhanshu Joshi will be the Co-Director for the course.
