'Conserve water for future generation'

Even though Odisha has 11 per cent of total water available in the country, people of the State suffer water deficiency. Hence, water conservation has been need of the hour, opined speakers at the State-level workshop held here on Saturday.

Gracing the occasion as chief guest, Water Resources Secretary Pradeep Jena said efforts should be made to conserve water both by Government and private level for future generation.

The workshop titled “Water Resource Management- save water and save live” was organised by the People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC) with the support of the Adoptions Centrum and ECOSAVERS Youth Network.

Jena advised the youths for proper use and management water which can help conservation of water.

Joint Secretary Dillip Kumar Routray emphasised on mass awareness for water conservation and proper utilisation. AdoptionsCentrum Country Director Rubi Rout stressed on reuse of water.

Among others, Dr Rajendra Prasad Mishra, PECUC secretary Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, ED Anuradha Mohanty, Jyoti Shankar Mohanty and Jyoti Mohapatra managed the programme.

As many as 75 youth representatives from the ECOSAVERS Youth Network participated.
