BJP committed to fight against black money and corruption: Rajiv Pratap Rudy

Wednesday, 30 November 2016 | PNS | Lucknow

After the BJP brass asked its MPs and legislators to make their bank details public, Union Minister for Skill development Rajiv Pratap Rudy dared Opposition parties to ask their law makers to do the same so that people could know what actually lies stashed in their accounts.

“The BJP led by PM Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah have taken a historic decision asking all MPs and legislators to disclose their bank accounts between November 8 and December 31. This shows the party’s commitment towards its fight against black money and corruption,” Rudy said while addressing a press conference in lucknow on Tuesday.

Rudy, who was also present at the BJP parliamentary board meeting in New Delhi where the decision was taken, said that now the Opposition parties should also come forward and do the same. He said that he will submit the bank accounts of his and family members to the concerned party district president, to be sent to the BJP chief.

When referred to Opposition charges that the decision to seek bank accounts of MPs and legislators was an eye wash and create sympathy towards the party after demonetisation had backfired, the Union minister made it clear that the party had never shied away from its commitment on black money and it will continue to take steps to create a transparent society.

The Union minister blamed Opposition leaders for running away from debate in the Parliament over demonetisation and were changing their goal posts daily.

“Everyday these Opposition members rush to the well of the House as soon as it assembles and they never bother to go to their seats. It simply means that they don’t want a discussion whereas the BJP is ready for brainstorming on demonetisation,” he said.

Admitting that the people in rural areas were facing problems due to demonetisation, the BJP leader from Bihar lauded the  move by Prime Minister saying that it would change the entire scenario of the country.

Rudy said that people are happy with the decision and claimed that recent local bodies’ polls in Maharastra proved that  the BJP has almost swept the elections along with its partner Shiv Sena.

Meanwhile, the Union minister who attended the second job mela organised by his ministry in lucknow said that in the next one month around one lakh youths of UP would be given appointment letters by different companies.

“In the two-day job mela in lucknow around 21,000 youths attended the meet of which around 2000 would get jobs. At least 825 youth have been issued the appointment letters already,” he said.

“We will hold several similar job melas in all over the state. Over one lakh jobs would be created in big companies of manufacturing, services, construction, hospitality, hospitals and others. The first job mela was organised in Varanasi where 11,000 youths were registered and of which 1100 had got job,” Rudi said.
