Amid the on-going political turmoil Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched several health schemes including Mukhya Mantri Swasthay Bima Yojana for the welfare of the people but refused to address the gathering.
At the function, which was held at the Chief Minister’s official residence, Yadav launched the schemes but did not address the gathering. It is customary for the Chief Minister to address the gathering after launching government schemes. But Akhilesh politely refused to address officials and left the hall.
Yadav, who is always known for his cool temperament, was seen a bit tense. He stayed back in the function for almost 15 minutes in which remained quite all the time and had a small conversation with his cabinet colleague Shiva Kant Ojha.
At one time he also asked officials to speed up the things pointing at the watch.
When reporters approached him for his comments for the on-going political tussle in the first family Yadav coolly refused to say a word but gave the lensmen some opportunity for photo-ops.
The bickering within the ruling Samajwadi Party where Akhilesh Yadav is pitted against his father and party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and his chacha and state party president Shivpal Singh Yadav has escalated as both the Chief Minister as well as Mulayam have released separate candidates’ lists.
Just before the programme, he had issued a statement that he has called a meeting of the party Assembly candidates on Saturday where he will discuss party issue with his supporters.
The Chief Minister launched three important Health Department schemes for the people of the state which includes ‘Mukhyamantri Swastha Bima Yojana’, ‘Samajwadi Swastha Bima Yojana’ and cashless health scheme for the state employees.
Besides this, he also launched Health Department schemes to the tune of over Rs 882 crore which include transfer of 112-acre of land worth Rs 768 crore for setting up AIIMS like hospital in Gorakhpur and laying the foundation of the state’s third Unnani Medical college at Bareilly.
