The Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to set up an inter-departmental committee that will promote use of new technology in community housing schemes as per the directives of the Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council.
In his letter to the Union Urban Development and Housing M Vainkaiha Naidu Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that the proposed three member committee would be set up in consultation with different departments responsible for construction of houses.
“The Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council has expected all the state governments to set up committee that would suggest use of new technology in building construction,” Yadav said adding that this committee will give its suggestions of development authorities and Housing and Development Council.
Yadav said that development authorities and Awas Vikas Parishad builds houses for the poor in form of EWS and lIG housing schemes. This committee will suggest whether use of new technology can in fact bring the construction cost.
“The committee can give this suggestion to the government which will act accordingly,” Chief Ministers said.
Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council has written a letter to Chief Minister requesting him to set up a three member inter-departmental committee.
