Two shops catch fire in Bokaro, goods worth Rs8 lakh gutted

Two shops were razed in fire and goods worth Rs8 lakh gutted at Dundibad in Bokaro in the wee hours of Friday. This is the fifth fire incident in the same market, police said. At 1 am, fire broke out in a cloth and a plastic goods shop at NH-23. After a stiff struggle by the fire fighters, fire got controlled after several hours, but  it destroyed goods including others, informed an eyewitness.

The fire tenders succeeded in dousing the fire, after a long struggle of three hours. “More than six firefighting tenders and hundreds of local people joined hands to douse the fire,” added another eyewitness. “We are probing the reasons behind the eruption of fire, said an official.

Dundibad is the biggest bazaar of the district and all shops usually remain full of stock and this is the fifth fire incident within last two months. Bokaro MlA Viranchi Narayan rushed to the spot and assured all help to the victims at the earliest.
