Former minister and descendant of erstwhile Pawar dynasty of Marathas that ruled Dewas state, Tukoji Rao Puar died on Friday morning. He was admitted to CHl Apollo hospital few days back after he suffered brain hemorrhage at his residence in Dewas on Tuesday.
The body will be placed in the Rajwada area of Dewas on Saturday morning till 1 pm and then the last rites will be performed at Chhatribagh area of Dewas.
Since, Puar was declared brain dead, he was put on life support. However, when his condition did not show any sign of improvement in the past three days, doctors at CHl Apollo hospital on Friday morning declared him dead.
Soon after news of Puar 's death spread in the city, his acquaintances, family members, well-wishers, political dignitaries thronged the hospital and condoled his death. Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav also visited the hospital to pay his last respect to Puar .
From CHl Apollo hospital, late Puar 's mortal remains was taken to Dewas at 4 pm. In Dewas, his body was kept at Rajwada for the final final glimpse. According to reports, his last rite would be performed at Chatribagh in Dewas on Saturday at 4 pm.
Puar came to politics in 1985 and had been elected to Madhya Pradesh assembly for the first time in 1990. He had fought his last assembly election in 2013 and had been elected to state assembly for the sixth time.
In state assembly, he had held charge of important ministries like higher education, technical education, tourism, sports and youth welfare as a minister of state (independent charge). He had also been elected as state president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in 2002 and had been recently elected as chairman of prestigious Daly College Governing body.
