The Government Railway Police (GRP), Bhubaneswar on Friday arrested four persons, including three hardcore juvenile criminals, on the charges of looting passengers in running trains.
According to Bhubaneswar GRP station IIC Soubhagya Swain, the three arrested juveniles have committed many thefts in trains.
According to the police officer, at 1 am on October 27 three juveniles Kumar (17), Rao (16) and Narayan (15) (Name changed) along with Sania Kunj looted Mayurbhanj district Industry Promotion Officer Chhot Kishore Kamal and his wife and also one M Tirupati from Bangalore Cant-Bhubaneswar Subidha Express near Kalpana over bridge while the train was on a slow motion as it was entering the Bhubaneswar railway station.
The trio hails from Falikia bazaar slum. They looted USA dollars, camera, mobile phones from the Industry Promotion Officer while decamping with Rs2 lakh, gold ornaments, laptop, tablet and valuable documents from N Tirupati of Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the trio juveniles were produced at the Khordha Juvenile Court while Sania was remanded to the Bhubaneswar GRP custody.
Investigation is on to find out their criminal antecedents.
