Probe unveils more names in scam

During investigation of the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) medical entrance test, it has been found that more than Rs50 crore was involved in the medical scandal every year between the staff and the agents. Former director of the MPPEB has exposed names of many white collar people. The SIT has demanded guideline from senior officers for taking further action. Former director Umesh Upreti has exposed many names during interrogation. He said that he had received the charge of board 10 years ago. All the private medical colleges began to contact him and gave him in a paper format asking to work according to their schemes.

Cost of every medical seat was decided and it increased every year. The price of MBBS seat was fixed from Rs3.5 lakh to Rs1.5 crore involving more than Rs50 crore in the scam. After the exposure by Yogesh, the report has been sent to DGP Surendra Sinh and STF Addl DG Sudheer Shahi. Every year 50 per cent seats of PMT and pre-PG were filled through MET involving crorers of rupees. Yogesh told the STF that 50 per cent seats in medical college were filled through DMET. Before that the private medical colleges gave them the name of their students.

The SIT in charge, VK Jain said that police have arrested Amit Sharma from Bhind and made chain linkup of DMET. The whole information has been sent to the PHQ in writing in this matter and the AIG of STF is also coming to Gwalior for further interrogation.
