PCC chief assures victory of party in Panchayat polls

Monday, 30 November 2015 | PNS | Haridwar

The success of developmental works undertaken by the Congress led Uttarakhand Government would decide the fate of the party in the forthcoming three-phase Panchayat polls in Haridwar district, said the State PCC president Kishore Upadhyay on Sunday noon. He was introducing the newly assigned party workers to the media persons at a press conference held in a local hotel here.

In his addresss, Upadhyay said that he was fully confident of the local leadership and had assigned duty of a party Pradesh Mantri in all the six blocks of the district. These Ministers would be directly reporting to the Minister incharge of Haridwar –Indira Hridyesh. Under her leadership the team would be working. He said that the party would surely win the Zila Panchayat polls and the Adhyaksh would be from Congress for sure.

He introduced the newly assigned party members for various roles. Speaking on the strategy to be undertaken by the part, Upadhyay said, “Training would be given at every polling booth in the district to nearly 7000  people on specific subjects of international level so that congress head Rahul Gandhi’s idea of updation of new development can be streamlined.” He stressed on the need to follow the guidelines of Rahul Gandhi who wanted everything in black and white about the development issues and the agendas from all States and blocks so that the matters could reach the Parliament and a review was done at all levels from State to district to block level every month by party workers on one single day, 24th, of every month.

He also spoke of holding Sewa Dal camps in all Vidhan Sabha constituencies before June next year and Mahila Congress’s active role in holding Mandal committees in various regions of Garhwal, Kumaon and others.

State Congress Media cell person Ambrish Kumar reasoned on the remarks made by the former Chief minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank that he must collect correct data before making any announcement. Nishank who is current parliamentarian from Haridwar had said that only 10 percent of the promises made by State Chief Minister Harish Rawat had been accomplished. While BJP leader himself was caught in corruption as mentioned in CAG report of 2010 Kumbh mela when Nishank was CM, he had no right to blame Rawat Government, said Ambrish Kumar.

Former State woman commissioner Santosh Chauhan, Rajesh Shivpuri, Murli Manohar, State spokesperson Anshul Shrikunj, Poonam Bhagat were among  other Congress leaders present in the conference.
