The Belpahahar police arrested and court-forwarded one Prasanna Patnaik on Tuesday for allegedly raping a married woman for two long years at Malipara under Belpahar police limits in Jharsuguda district.The woman was staying with her husband, who is a businessman, at Belpahar for the last four years. Patnaik kept a close watch on the victim and later trapped her by recording an obscene video of her.
After that, Patnaik started threatening her to circulate the video and managed to keep physical relationship with her for years.When the accused further demanded Rs 2 lakh from the woman, the latter brought the matter before her husband. On Saturday, they filed an FIR against Patnaik, who was sent to jail as his bail plea was rejected by the court.
