Hazaribagh peaceful, probe panel to submit report today

The district administration has constituted an enquiry committee to probe into the incident of communal clashes between two communities which resulted to police firing in which one person lost his life on last Saturday near Charwa Dam Hazaribagh.

Additional Collector Anjani Kumar has been made in charge of this committee. This magisterial committee will submit its report by Tuesday evening and then further action will be taken.

In a joint press conference called by DC Mukesh Kumar and SP Akhilesh Jha, the officials said that the situation in the town and its surrounding areas is peaceful. All types of precautionary measures to avoid any further incidence, they said.

They cleared that the person died in the incident has got rubber bullet injury used by the police force.

Usually rubber bullets are not fatal but the man died was very weak so it proved fatal for him.

The officials also informed that the dead body found on Monday from Charwa dam is not related with the incident, it was a case of drowning. Both appealed to the public of Hazaribagh to not follow the rumors.

DC and SP said that two different FIRs have been lodged in this case in which 51 persons have registered are named accused. Out of these 51 police has sent 17 accused behind the bar so far.

Patrolling is going on throughout day and night and especially 32 bike patrolling teams are roaming in the town to keep eye in the narrow streets.

Meanwhile the officer in charge of Pelawal police station Nawal Kishor has been suspended on the charge of negligence in duty, added Jha.

Meanwhile, a team of left parties visited the affected areas and then in a Press Conference said that it was a result of failure of district administration.

The leaders of left parties have demanded a compensation of Rs 25 lakhs for the family members of the deceased.

GD Bakshi, BP Mehta, Javed Islam, Mithilesh Singh, Pacchu Rana, Ganesh Kumar Citu, Raji Ahmed and others were the members of this joint team of left parties.
