Haryana approves new policy for empanelment of pvt hospitals

Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar lal has approved the new empanelment policy of private hospitals under which medical reimbursement to the State Government employees, pensioners and their dependents will be allowed at PGIMER, Chandigarh rates alongwith 75 per cent of the balance amount applicable to non-package procedures.

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Thursday said that under the new policy, multispecialty hospitals with minimum 100 beds and superspecialty and single specialty hospitals having minimum bed strength of 30 will be eligible for empanelment. For the single specialities of eye, dental, nephrology and urology, bed strength of only 10 would apply.

To be empanelled, a hospital must   possess an accreditation certificate of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals or Joint Commission International. An inspection will be carried out by a Committee headed by Additional Director General Health Services or Director or Civil Surgeon as per the directions of the Director General Health Services with the specialists as members. A non-accredited hospital will not be eligible to apply.

The Minister said that the eligibility criteria also includes that the package rates would be prepared by the specialist and consent given by the hospitals which are notified by the State on May 21. He said that the hospital would provide consent on package rates and implants.

He said that the existing empanelled hospitals as well as those who have applied for renewal would remain empanelled till the issuance of new empanelment policy.

Vij said that as per the procedure, an application is submitted by the hospital authority along with non refundable demand draft of Rs 25,000 as inspection fee in favour of DGHS reimbursement fund payable at Panchkula. The hospital has to pay a refundable security of Rs one lakh in the form of bank draft in the name of DGHS Reimbursement Fund, added he.
