Collector, SP meet villagers in Gariaband

For ensuring better execution of various welfare schemes in remote pockets of insurgency-hit Gariaband district, Collector Niranjan Das and Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Pathak reached Bindranavagarh village and interacted with villagers.The officers also distributed medicines free of cost during their visit. Both the officers reached Bindranavagarh on bikes and later on travelled to Khamharipara, Kurrabahra and Mardakla villages which are believed to be Naxal sensitive regions.

At Mardakala, they called a meeting of locals in the Government school and heard their demands and problems.The demand of repairing Primary School building and fund for ‘Bal leela Mandali’ was accepted on the spot.Under the Civic Action Programme, a medical camp was held and needy ones were provided with medicines.

The Collector asked villagers about ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna’ and asked them to get opened their bank accounts under this scheme.later on, the officers reached Begrapal and interacted with locals. The villagers complained about frequent low voltage problem to which the Collector assured them of solving the problem soon. The locals in village were satisfied with functioning of fair price shop, they told Das. 

At Pandripani village, the officers asked villagers about Mid-day meal served in the school and supplementary diets made available at Anganwandi centers. In Dumarbahra village, the locals asked the Collector to get completed the construction of Anganwadi centre. He assured them of getting the work completed and instructed village Sarpanch for getting constructed toilet in every home.
