Anti-encroachment drive starts in Daltonganj

Thursday, 30 July 2015 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

Palamu administration launched its anti encroachment drive here on Wednesday. It pressed in two bull dozers , four magistrates and three dozen cops for this. The anti encroachment drive went on the DDC road here. The drive affected doctor, businessmen and political leader too.

Sources said the drive brought down wall of a doctor's house cum clinic. The doctor R P Sinha is a highly reputed one here but despite his respectability and popularity here every one had set his eyes on whether the administration launches this anti encroachment drive on his wall or not. The administration demolished his boundary wall and private security post.

Second big demolition was of the trader cum president of Palamu Chamber of Commerce Anand Shanker whose boundary wall and other structure were brought down. Putting up a brave front Anand Shanker said ' The wall has gone so it is no problem to rise again'. Referring to a Sikh trader who lost property worth 50 lakhs of rupees in fire recently has made a come back so where is the problem for him to be up again reiterated Anand Shanker.

Anand Shanker is well connected in the corridors of power and had recently returned to Daltonganj after having a meeting with the CM Raghubar Das there. However unfazed district administration went with tits demolition drive on Wednesday starting with the affluent to stem all such criticisms that in such a drive it is the poor who are uprooted only.

However sources said DC Palamu K Srinivasan too showed his administration's determination and commitment to remove encroachment on/from government land. Under his directive the land revenue officials mustered courage and laid hands on the big and powerful and removed encroachments by way of demolition.

All eyes are now on shops built in Satabdi market, Swarna Jayanti market and Palika Bazar as administration has identified these shops to be equally on encroached land. However the shops were built by administration about two decades back and the shop keepers are paying their rent to the government. Their demolition in this drive will be no less a legally ticklish problem.

The Daltonganj BJP

MlA Aloke Chourasia met the DC sRinivasan on Wednesday with 70 such shop holders of the three places as mentioned above.
