The Regional Incentive Awards Ceremony-2015 was organized at the Kendriya Vidyalya (KV) No-4 here on Wednesday.
As many as 17 teachers and miscellaneous staff members of Bhubaneswar region were honored with KVS Regional Incentive Awards for their meritorious services for the cause of education. Seven other teachers, who have received Innovation and Experimentation Awards during the session, were felicitated.
Remarkably, Regional Deputy Commissioner Dr D Ahuja’s name features among the 17 principals of the region. They are among the 52 principals of various KVs spread across the State.
Prof (Dr) Debendra Nath Jena, Vice Chancellor, Utkal University of Culture was the chief guest on the occasion.
The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest. “This is the highest award given by KVS and those who are granted with the award have to be recommended by two committees each at cluster level and its parallel body at the regional level chaired by the deputy commissioner herself,” said laxsmi Chari of the Zonal Institute of Education and Training (ZIET), Bhubaneswar region.
The award ceremony ended with a short play Beti Bachao Beti Padhao the KV- unit 4. The title was also the slogan for the New Year 2016.
