The Delhi Government on Tuesday went for a major bureaucratic reshuffle involving 16 IAS officers and three other officials. Divisional Commissioner Ashwini Kumar, a 1992 batch IAS officer, has been posted as Secretary (environment). K R Meena, a 1993 batch IAS officer who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as secretary-cum-commissioner in the labour Department.
Similarly, A Anbarasu, a 1996 batch officer who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Divisional Commissioner with the additional charge of Development Commissioner.
According to sources, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was not happy with Ashwini Kumar as he had suggested that new circle rates can only be implemented with the approval of lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.
This did not go down well with the Chief Minister who wanted to push through the new circle rates for the agricultural land, according to sources.
The order related to the transfer and posting of the bureaucrats was issued by principal secretary (services) Rajendra Kumar.
A 1994 IAS officer, Ashish Chandra Verma, who was posted as Development Commissioner, has been assigned the job of the managing director of the Department of Delhi Khadi and Village Industries Board which is considered less important as compared to his current posting.
Director (Agriculture Marketing Board) V P Rao, a 1999 batch officer, has been given the additional charge of Secretary (planning) and Food Safety Commissioner K K Jindal, a 2000 batch officer, has been posted as secretary of the Delhi Minority Commission.
A 2000 batch IAS officer, Dilraj Kaur, posted as Additional Commissioner, North Delhi Municipal Corporation, has been repatriated and posted as member of the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board while his husband, Secretary (New Delhi Municipal Council) Nikhil Kumar, a 2002 batch officer, has been posted as Special Secretary (Health).
Chanchal Yadav, who is 2008 batch officer, has been posted as Secretary (NDMC). Special secretary (Health) Mrinalini Darswal has been assigned the additional charge of food safety commissioner. Amit Satija, who is 2008 batch officer, will be Deputy Commissioner (West). He is currently posted as DJB finance director.
Deputy Commissioner (West) B S Jaglan has been posted as Deputy Commissioner (South East) and Urban Development Special Secretary RM Rao has been assigned the job of Deputy Commissioner (North MCD).
A 2007 IAS officer, Govind Jaiswal, currently posted as Additional Commissioner (VAT), has been relieved of his additional charges in CATS and DSHM wing of the administration.
Sandeep Mishra, who returned from abroad after study leave, has been appointed Additional Secretary (urban Development).
