Young students are engulfed by anxiety and nervousness when exams knock on their doors. MahaVastu can come to their rescue at this juncture, claims VASTUSHASTRI KHUSHDEEP BANSAl, and also offers effective solutions
My child is not doing well in examinations,’ is a common whinge from parents. And the fault-finding exercise for this is varied as well as imaginative. While some put the blame squarely on the Internet, some who put the needle of suspicion on the child’s peer groups, the many forms of accessible entertainment, or even shortcomings in the teachers.
Rarely does the parent stop to wonder if there is a fault lurking within the very environment where the child lives. For example, during our school life, almost all of us were told innumerable times by our parents, friends and other well-wishers to study facing East. The fact, however, is that there is no one direction that is suitable for all fields of study.
The study table represents a ‘place for learning and acquiring new skills’. Children who do not pay attention to studies, should have the study table in the middle of the southwest and west zones. If children do not concentrate on their books and are frequently distracted, they should study facing west.
The ancient doctrine of Vastu Shastra tells us that the most suitable direction depends upon the subject being studied. For example, to achieve proficiency in mathematics and science, students should study facing west. If one studies facing the south, he develops good debating skills, logical ability and sharp business acumen. For creative or religious works, one should study facing east.
The west of southwest is the zone of studies. This zone prompts one to practise repeatedly what one is pursuing, so that results improve. If this zone is balanced, it ensures greater returns and improved performance with less effort. The west-southwest zone also equips one with the power, energy and capacity for retention of knowledge.
Whether the children will be able to concentrate on their studies is decided by the activities and objects present in the WSW vastu zone. For example, if there is a TV placed in this zone, then the child’s attention will shift towards watching TV programmes.
Some parents complain that their children don’t wish to study at all. They should check if they are having a toilet or green colour or green plants in this zone. Toilet is a representation of flushing out waste. Having it in the vastu zone of studies programmes your subconscious mind with the thought — ‘Studies is waste and should be removed from our life’. Similarly, having a dressing table in this zone will shift their attention towards improving their looks while standing in front of mirror.
location of the child’s bed being in east-southeast (ESE) vastu zone of churning and anxiety is another major reason for lack of concentration. When your children sleep in this zone, they start facing inner conflicts and doubts. Even their books placed in this zone leads to poor understanding and retention due to over-analysis.
A child’s bedroom should be located in the west-southwest (WSW) vastu zone. lack of concentration generates due to disinterest in the subject but if you keep your child’s books in this zone, it will develop his interest and concentration.
I remember a case wherein a businessman, during vastu consultation for his office, shared that after shifting to his new apartment, his teenage son had become quite reluctant towards his studies. Every time he was busy in watching nonsense things on Internet. Earlier he used to be a brilliant student. When a MahaVastu expert visited his house, he found that the master bedroom was located in WSW and the son’s bedroom was located in north-northwest (NNW), the vastu zone of sex and attraction. There was also a computer (with internet connection) in his bedroom. Needless to say, why the son was losing his concentration in his studies and focussing more on irrelevant matters for his age. Within three months of interchanging their bedrooms, the Son once again scored over 89 per cent in his exams.
As per vastu shastra, studying in different zones in your home produces different effects. Here are a few examples. The northeast is a productive place for research work. Students will think up new ideas and develop insights required to excel in their studies. The west-southwest zone is ideal for school students — they feel naturally inclined towards studies and secure excellent grades. In contrast, in the east-northeast, the child will feel the burden of studies. When their study table is placed in this zone, they will be inclined more towards fun activities (like reading comics) than studying. Similarly, studies done in the South-South-West zone will prove futile as the child will secure poor grades or even fail.
Vastu shastra states that it is important that children study well, train themselves and acquire skills and learning, and grow properly. The influence of anything placed in the west-southwest zone can be seen easily — if a television set is kept here, it will definitely distract the child from his studies.
In a research conducted by one of my colleagues, an expert vastu shastra practitioner, on ‘child education’ in houses, she found that children are not able to memorise if a washing machine is placed in the zone of studies. With a washing machine there, the child may study as hard as he can, but will always feel drained out.
In another case, the child used to cry whenever his parents asked him to study. Can you guess where his study table was lyingIJ In the zone of depression and low moods, i.e., west-northwest. If you know the logics of vastu shastra, you can yourself ensure right placement of activities and objects in your home and program your space to facilitate better concentration, memory, and excellent grades for your children.
