Woman gangraped in Agra

A 25-year-old wife of a coaching institute owner was gang-raped at knife point in a moving car at Agra on Wednesday while another woman was raped and murdered in Pratapgarh. local police registered both the cases but failed to lay a trap on the accused.

In Agra, one Gaurav Gupta aka Shameem, a native of Dewla hamlet of Sadar Bazar in Agra, knew the wife of a coaching institute owner. On Wednesday, he called her at Bhagwan Talkies for some work. When the woman reached there, Gaurav Gupta, asked her to come in his car and they would have a cup of tea and discussed some matter. The accused later took the car and stopped it near SN Medical College campus. The women was shocked when suddenly, Gaurav Gupta’s friend identified as Arvind, who was also in the car whipped out a knife and threatened to kill her if she would raise an alarm. later the accused raped the woman one by one in moving car and finally they abandoned her but not before threatening her with life if she will reveal the incident to anyone. later the victim somehow reached home and revealed the trauma to her husband who subsequently went and lodged a case with the New Agra police station. The cops said that they sent the woman for medical examination and also conducted raids but failed to arrest the accused who were found absconding.

Meanwhile in another case, body of a woman who was raped and murdered was found lying in Phatanpur locality of Pratapgarh. According to reports, a local resident of Bairampur hamlet of Phatanpur saw a nude body of a women lying on the corner of the road on Thursday morning. The victim, who was in her early twenties seems to be gang raped and later strangulated to death. The accused later dumped her body to conceal the crime. The cops of Phatanpur police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination. They also get a case registered in the matter and efforts were made to maintain her identity so that the cops could close down on the killers.
