The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party is gearing up for a mega show of strength during the maiden visit of Amit Shah to the state capital after his elevation as national president of the party on August 19.
“Shah is expected to take a series of meetings of party workers and other office-bearers and prepare a road map for party’s election strategy for the forthcoming bye-elections,” party’s state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai said in a statement issued here on Wednesday. Shah was in-charge of Uttar Pradesh during lok sabha elections.
He said that the need of the hour for the party workers is to maintain the momentum the party it has achieved during the last lok Sabha elections. “Now, the target is to win the bye-elections and Shah’s visit would galvanise the party cadre,” Bajpai said. State will go for bye election in which elections will be held for 12 assembly and one lok Sabha seats.
Earlier in the day BJP state president addressed a meeting of the party workers and other office –bearers. “During the last lok Sabha elections you people had worked as well-oiled machine. And now the time has come to replicate that success. Ensure we win all the seats that would go to polls in coming months,” Bajpai said. He said the Uttar Pradesh is on the boil again. Few city are rocked by communal riots. People are looking towards BJP to save themselves and we should fulfill our responsibilities, Bajpai said.
