State police is expected to seek a fresh voice sample of BJP MP from Gorakhpur, Yogi Adityanath through the concerned court in connection with his hate speech on ‘ love Jehad’ way back in 2007.
The controversial CD has already been sent to CFl New Delhi for examination which can create fresh trouble for the BJP just before the crucial by-elections in the state. High level sources in the CB-CID confirmed on Saturday that the alleged hate speech CD and voice samples of Yogi has been sent to CFl Delhi for examination. But sources also revealed that the agency would also move a petition in the concerned court to record fresh voice samples of Yogi.” This would be done to ensure no legal challenge to CFl report,” sources said.
The voice samples of Yogi which have been sent now were collected directly by agency without court’s order to the accused and hence might be challenged by Yogi’s counsel at a later stage of prosecution. “An application for a fresh voice sample of the BJP MP would be moved in the concerned court very soon,” sources said.
Meanwhile ADG CB-CID Jagmohan Yadav has called a departmental meeting on September 3 here to discuss the progress in the investigation in the mater. Yogi has been named as the BJP’s campaign committee member for the next month’s by-elections to 11 assembly and one lok Sabha seat in the state. The BJP MP along with Union Minister Kalraj Mishra and state BJP president laxmikant Bajpai would address election meetings in all the seats, where the by-polls are being held. This particular hate speech is dated January 27, 2007 and was made near Gorakhpur railway station.
State police’s CB-CID wing is probing a case against the controversial MP for his role in Gorakhpur riots of January 2007. A case was also registered against him on CJM Gorakhpur’s order in 2008 at Cantonment police station in the district. The investigation in the case has now picked up pace with the sources informing that charge sheet in the matter is being prepared and the alleged hate speech which is said to have triggered the riots being sent in for forensic examinations. Sources in the state police say that it would be matched with existing voice samples of the BJP MP to verify its authenticity. The concerned court in Gorakhpur had recently ordered for a forensic investigation of the video of the alleged hate speech.
