The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has finally initiated the process of issuing a notice to the builders of Pacific Hills Apartments at Mussoorie Diversion, Rajpur Road for violating various regulations.
Apart from encroaching on about 886 square metres of municipal land, the builder has also been found to have flouted various construction norms. It will be recalled that earlier the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun had measured the construction site and stated that the builder had encroached upon 1,200 square metres of municipal land.
later a joint measurement undertaken by the authorities placed the area under encroachment at 886 square metres. While the MCD was in the process of constructing a boundary wall around its encroached land and take possession of the flats built on it, the builder secured a stay on this.
The MCD has approached the High Court to get this stay vacated. Meanwhile, the MDDA inquired into the matter and ascertained that various regulations had been violated by builder.
The MDDA secretary Banshidhar Tiwari stated, "With the builder encroaching on 886 square metres of municipal land, we are in the process of issuing a notice to the builder for violating regulations related to the setback, ground coverage and constructing a third basement."
