Demanding immediate removal of Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha president Dakhya Prasad Nanda from his post, the Odisha Secondary School Teachers’ Association (OSSTA) has threatened to organise a massive State-wide protest against the BSE for playing with the future of innocent High School students. Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, OSSTA secretary PC Mohanty alleged that in the garb of examination reforms, the BSE this year had increased the agony of matriculation examinees manifold.
“The blunders found in the results of the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations published on April 30 further shocked the students,” Mohanty said, adding that even the fresh results published on May 10 is not even error-free.The OSSTA was of the opinion that Nanda, his team in the BSE and the State’s School and Mass Education Department are responsible for the sharp decline in the BSE’s reputation.“The trust deficit between the BSE and the students is increasing with every passing year for the poor conduct of the matriculation examination,” the OSSTA members alleged.
The OSSTA members have also suggested that the proposed supplementary examinations, scheduled to begin from May 31, be rescheduled as many students are still not sure about their annual HSC results and are, therefore, undecided about the supplementary examinations.
