The stray leopard  in Meerut remained elusive on the fourth day of  the search which was carried out for it on Thursday by the Forest Department. DFO Meerut Sushant Sharma while talking to ‘The Pioneer" said that there were reports that the dog had been attacked by leopard in the Cantonement area however when the postmortem of the dog  was carried out it revealed that it had died because of dehydration.

"There were no injury marks and the post mortem revealed that the dog had died because of dehydration" he said. On reports of an attack by an animal in Muzzafarnagar, the DFO said that the place of the said attack was about eighty kilometers from Meerut.
