JEE results out, Bhopal students shine

The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for entry to the country’s top engineering colleges were announced on Thursday. The students from Bhopal showcased an outstanding performance and secured commendable ranking.

Amay Gupta secured All India eighth rank and Rajat Chaturvedi secured 51st rank in the examination. Further, Nishit Asnani secured All India 161st rank. As the results were out on Thursday the students had a sigh of relief and it is expected by experts that as many as 15 students from Bhopal have been selected in IIT.

According to expert Balendu Chandil this year the students cut off may also decrease. He informed that last year the cut off went till 154 and as this year as the exam paper was difficult, the cut off might get decreased. He further informed that the IIT counseling will continue till first week of July and after the final counseling, seats will be allotted to the eligible candidates.

The expert also shared that this year 12000 rankers might get call from IIT. Elaborating more about it, he said that few students take a drop after the results and due to this other students get call from IIT.

Noticeably, the Joint Entrance Exam- Main results were announced on May 3 and as many as 85000 students from Madhya Pradesh appeared in the exam. Out of 85000 students 20,000 were selected in the advanced exam out of which 300 students were from Bhopal.

Notably, JEE Main exam was held in 20 cities of Madhya Pradesh that included Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Badvani, Balaghat, Betul, Chhatarpur, Chhindwara, Guna, Gwalior, Khandwa, Khargone, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Reewa, Sagar, Satna, Shahdol and Vidisha. Moreover, 1.5 lakh students from across the country will appear for JEE Advance exam to get an admission in IIT.

Meanwhile, the coaching classes of FIITJEE in a statement said that its student Nishit Asnani, student of Four Year Classroom Programme from Bhopal Centre secured 161 All India Rank while Deepak Kinra, student of Two year Classroom Program is ranked 466, and Abhishek Raj Sahoo, student of Two year Classroom Program secured 618 in the country. Overall 59 students have been selected in JEE-ADVANCED from Bhopal Centre.
