Senior IPS officer Jagmohan Yadav is pips out in the race for the next Director General of Police (DGP) of the state.
If things fall at right place, Yadav, who is holding post of Additional Director General of Police (ADG) CB-CID, is tipped to
become the new DGP of the state on New Year. His chances to be promoted to the coveted post brightened after the Centre issued notification to increase two cadre DG posts in the state. Confirming the same a senior official said that UP has received the Centre’s notification to increase the two DG level cadre posts.
“Yadav would be promoted to DG level and he could be tipped as the new DGP of the state on January 1,” the official said.
At present, there are 10 DG posts in the state in which 5 are cadre posts and remaining five of the state. But now after the notification the DG posts have gone up to 14, with 7 of cadre and rest 7 of the state. Yadav is very close to the government though some other DG level officers like Praveen Singh, V K Gupta, AK Jain, Surya Kumar Shukla and Ranjan Dwivedi are also in the race for the coveted post.
