CM sets development agenda for next fiscal

Friday, 28 February 2014 | PNS | Lucknow

Setting a development agenda for the next fiscal, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has identified 243 projects which would be implemented in a time-bound and transparent manner so that their benefits reach the targeted populace.

"The agenda has been fixed for the next fiscal year. This will work as a guideline for the field officials in knowing what exactly they have to do in 2014-15. This will bring transparency in the Government's working and provide help to the people," the Chief Minister said in a statement issued here on Thursday. He said the state had galloped on the path of development in the last two fiscal only because "we had set up a development agenda". Working on that agenda, we achieved a new high. Therefore, for the next fiscal too we have set up a target and we will try to achieve it in a systematic manner, Yadav said.

The agenda includes 243 projects of various departments include Finance, Agriculture, Infrastructure Development, PWD, Power, Education, Health, Social Security, Rural Development, Irrigation, Urban Development and labour. Besides, priority projects have also been identified. They include lucknow-Agra Expressway, revision of PPP scheme, simplification of land acquisition laws, effective implementation of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and Amritsar-Delhi-Amritsar Corridor projects.

"Good roads have a direct relation with development. Good roads will help in effective implementation of the development schemes. Therefore, the Government has plans to link district headquarters with 4-lane roads. If needed, ROBs (rail overbridges) would also be constructed," the statement said.

The Chief Minister also talked about the need to have good power supply across the state so that agriculture based industries could be set up. "Improvement has been made in the health sector but still the Government is committed to construct new hospitals and maternity homes in the state. Cancer centres would be set up in SGPGI, BHU and AMU," he said. "These projects should be implemented in a transparent manner so that people may get benefit from them," he added.
