Veteran film actor and former Chief Minister Nandamuri Harikrishna’s son Janakiram was cremated in the presence of hundreds of mourners on Sunday afternoon at Moinabad on the city outskirts.
His son and child artist Taraka Rama Rao lit the pyre.
Janakiram, a film producer, died on Saturday in a road accident near Akupamula crossroads on the Hyderabad-Vijayawda Highway.
His car collided with a tractor. He was admitted to a private hospital at Kodad where he was declared dead.
Earlier, a large number of prominent personalities from the film industry and politics visited Harikrishna’s residence in Masab Tank area of Hyderabad and paid their last respects to Janakiram.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, an uncle of Janaki Ram had visited the residence on Saturday evening, as he was to go to Delhi on Sunday morning.
Notable personalities who consoled the family include Chiranjeevi, N Balakrishna, film directors K Raghvendra Rao and Puri Jagannath, Allu Arjun, political leaders YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy, former minister D Puradeswari, D Venkateshwara Rao, Nara lokesh and lakshmi Parvathy, sevral MlAs, MPs and State Ministers.
