Vegetable collection centre at Samora soon

A vegetable collection centre will be set up at village Samora in district Karnal to supply vegetables grown in this area to International Terminal Market, which is being set up at Gannur of Sonipat district.

Such centres will also be opened at village Daha and village Padhana of the district for supply of vegetables to this international market. An official spokesman said the progressive farmers of village Samora have diversified their crops and adopted radish cultivation in a big way. He said cultivation of radish per acre costs about Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000. About 3.5 kilo seed per acre is used and earning per acre on advance variety is between Rs 70,000 to Rs 80,000. The Government is also promoting crop diversification and a Kisan Mela was also organised in this direction at Uchanai.
