National Student’s Union of India (NSUI) Ujjain district’s former secretary Sudarshan Goyal has urged Governor Ram Naresh Yadav to immediately suspend Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Vikram University TR Thapak for promoting and protecting the members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) who are involved in violent demonstrations creating chaos and fear among common people.
In a letter written to the Governor on Thursday, Goyal has pointed out that despite holding a public office, Thapak chaired the State convention of the student body of the BJP and also publicly praised it. He has written in the letter that photographs proving his presence at the convention were published in the local newspapers as well.
He further alleged that ABVP members took out a rally in support of the Vice-Chancellor in the campus of Vikram University and vandalised property in the campus. They also created ruckus and threatened the students there, he states adding that
the V-C did not took any action against the ABVP members.
Goyal has also alleged that the inauguration of Swami Vivekananda Snatak Bhawan in the university campus which is scheduled on February 22 has been organized to benefit the ABVP and other organisations of the saffron brigade including Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
