Stipend for village guards increased

For active co-operation in preventing crime, above 61000 village guards were given identity cards, cycle and torches.

Giving the information, principal secretary, Home Arun Kumar Gupta said the stipend being given to village guards had been increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 per month. He hoped that the decision would be helpful in effectively curbing the crime. Gupta further informed that a fund of above Rs 34.42 lakh had been allotted this fiscal year to the police department for cremation/ final rituals of unclaimed bodies recovered. It is noted that the expense on cremating a body had been increased from Rs 1500 to Rs 2700. 

Exam

The typing test of the candidates secured 40 per cent or above to it in written exam held on November 30 for the post of computer operator Grade A in UP police, will be held on January 8, 2014. The candidates will be allowed to take the exam after their original academic documents are verified to be true.
