Panjab University, in collaboration with CSIR-IMTECH, Chandigarh and IISER-Mohali would host 79th Annual Meeting of Indian Academy of Sciences from November 8 to 10. IASc is considered the leading academy amongst the three premier academies of science, promoting the progress and upholding the cause of science in pure and applied branches in the country.
National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, Dr Shivshankar Menon, will deliver a Public lecture on Science and Security on November 9. Current President of the Academy, Prof Dipankar Chatterji, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore will deliver presidential address on November 8 at PU auditorium. About 300 renowned scientists from top institutes of the country will attend the meeting and deliberate on various issues of science and technology.
Int’l conference begins
Chandigarh: International Conference on Interdisciplinary areas with Chemical Sciences, 2013 started at Panjab University on Wednesday. The Indian Institute of Science’s Prof DD Sarma inaugurated the three-day international conference, which is being organised by the Department of Chemistry, PU, in association with Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali, from October 30 to November 1.
Rayat-Bahra holds placement week for BTech 2014 batch
Mohali: IT giants Unisys, Wipro Technologies and Data64 Cyber Solutions recruited 91 students of BTech 2014 batches during the placement week held at campus of Rayat-Bahra Group of Institutes. The chairman of RBGI Gurvinder Singh Bahra congratulated the four students whom Data64 Cyber Solutions selected at a package of Rs 10 lakh per annum. Four selected students include two from Ropar campus and one each from Hoshiarpur campus and Mohali campus.
