Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked the District Magistrates to initiate stringent action against officials for not taking prompt action against complaints received on the Tehsil Diwas.
The CM has directed the DMs of Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Kanpur city, Sonebhadra and Mathura to initiate strict action against the Sub-Divisional Magistrates for not solving the complaints of the people even after a month's duration. "It seems the SDMs are not taking interest in solving problems of the people. This is not good sign. The DMs should identify those lax officials and take action against them," Yadav said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
"This directive should also serve as a warning for the officials of other districts. They should also work efficiently," he said. Allahabad has received maximum complaints 2216 number between July 2012 and July 2013 followed by Gorakhpur (1249), Kanpur city (1033), Sonebhadra (982) and Mathura (900). It has been found that till July 30 the pendency of cases in these districts was very high. "These problems should have been solved within a month’s time and it is almost a year cases are sill pending," he said.
