A meeting was held on the first death anniversary of well-known social reformer and former president of South Odisha Development Council Engineer Dayanidhi Sahu at the Utkal Ashram here.
It was presided over by veteran social worker Dr Arjun Sahu. While speaking on the occasion as chief guest, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Speaker of Odisha legislative Assembly Rama Chandra Panda recalled the priceless contributions made by late Sahu for the development of south Odisha. Panda unveiled a souvenir published in memory of Sahu.
Panda suggested for constituting a ‘South Odisha Development Action Committee’ to place the genuine demands of the people of south Odisha before appropriate authorities. Social workers, scribes and senior citizens having contribution to the development of south Odisha, including former Utkal Sammilani president Basanta Kumar Panigrahi, former Ganjam Bar Association president Bhagaban Sahu, advocates Santosh Mohapatra and Gopal Satapathy, scribe Rabi Rath and educationist Govind Das were honoured.
