BJP demands apprise of US tour

Tuesday, 30 April 2013 | Pioneer News Service | Lucknow

Cornering the Chief Minister regarding his USA visit along with an entourage of ministers and bureaucrats, the state BJP has demanded that the people must be apprised about the entire tour through the issuance of a white paper on the matter.

State BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said on Monday querried as to why was the government silent about the presentation on Mahakubh at Harvard University by the Chief Secretary.

"The people of UP have the right to know as to what was told by the government at Harvard University about the so called successful holding of Mahakumbh though the truth remains that more than 70 people were killed during the religious gathering," he said.

Pathak alleged that the egoistic Azam Khan and submissive Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had lowered the dignity and prestige of India during their US visit. He also rejected Khan's allegation that External Affairs minister Salman Khursheed was behind his humiliation.

"This is nothing but an illogical comment of a minister who holds External Affairs minister responsible for his alleged humiliation thus tranforming India into a laughing stock," Pathak said.
