Reiterating his Government’s commitment to solve the problems of people at the earliest, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that they were open to suggestions from political parties on rehabilitation of the Muzaffarnagar and Shamli riot victims.
“Many leaders have gone there and visited relief camps in the last few days. We do not have any objections to it. What we want is that the leaders should give suggestions, if they have any, on rehabilitation of the riot victims,” Yadav told reporters here on Monday during the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with HCl regarding construction of the proposed IT City in the state capital.
The Chief Minister said that his Government was doing its best to provide help to the riot victims.
He said the riot victims had been moved to pucca houses in view of severe cold and they had been given one of the best rehabilitation package.
“People can also make donation to CM’s Relief Fund for these victims and the same will be distributed equally among the victims. I know some organisations have distributed blankets and other things among riot victims. Now, they can do it through Government,” Yadav said.
The Chief Minister also hailed the decision of HCl to set up IT City in the state capital.
“There are talks about industrialisation of the state and that industries have refused to invest in UP. The decision of HCl has proved that the allegations are wrong. This is the beginning and more will follow suit,” he said.
The Chief Minister said the setting up of IT City by HCl would open job opportunities for the local youth.
“The IT City in lucknow would be a big achievement. Till now, the IT sector has been limited only to South India but now Uttar Pradesh will give a serious competition to Bangalore and Hyderabad,” the Chief Minister said.
Yadav said the people wrongly believed that the Samajwadi Party Government never fulfilled its commitment as his Government had fulfilled all the promises the Samajwadi Party made during the last assembly election.
“People questioned our announcement about distribution of laptops but we proved that what we promise we always fulfil,” he said.
Regarding the IT City, HCl Chairman Shiv Nader said that over Rs 1,500 crore would be invested in the next 10 years for setting up the IT City. He said one-third of the investment would be made in the first five years and it would give employment to over 3,000 local people.
“The IT City in lucknow would be a unique scheme where everything would be available under one roof and this would be one of its kind once it comes up in next five years,” he said.
