While the counting for the 14th Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections are only a week away, Urban Development Minister Babulal Gaur is once again in the limelight by raising suspicion on victory of his few Cabinet colleagues.
While talking to the mediapersons at his residence on Friday, Gaur said that at least five to six of his Cabinet colleagues will not emerge victorious in the election. The octogenarian former Chief Minister Gaur also undermined BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan saying that their effect on voters in the urban areas was less.
He claimed that both Modi and Shivraj managed to woo the voters in the rural areas only, but could not leave much impact on urban voters in Madhya Pradesh. However, Gaur claimed that his party will return to power for a third term in the State with a total 130 seats. “But some of my Cabinet colleagues will lose their constituencies as they failed in maintaining pace of work in their constituencies. If they manage to win, the margin would be negligible,” he added.
Ironically, Gaur’s observation came just a day after BJP national vice-president Prabhat Jha and State BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar had claimed that all sitting ministers will win their seats and come back to become part of Government running for another term.
