Prohibitory orders along Yamuna river in karnal

Chandigarh: In a bid to check illegal mining in Karnal, temporary police posts would be set up in villages located adjacent to river Yamuna and the district administration has also issued prohibitory orders under Section 144. An official spokesman said that to keep a regular vigil on such illegal activities by the district administration, six joint teams comprising officers of Revenue department and police department have also been constituted.

Farewell party for retiring officers  

Chandigarh: Senior Exhibition Organiser Sarjeet Singh and article writer Veena Sood of Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs department, Haryana retired on Friday after rendering 37 years and 35 years of service. Sarjeet Singh was posted in the Exhibition section and Veena Sood retired from the Press section of the department. A farewell party was also organised in honour of both the retiring officers.

Tata Docomo launches Photon Max Wi-Fi

Chandigarh: Tata Docomo Photon on Friday launched Photon Max Wi-Fi. Tata Docomo customers can create their own Wi-Fi Zone anytime anywhere and access the internet through any device — laptop, desktop, tablet or phone. The network serves up to five devices simultaneously. The experience of services like video on demand, video streaming, hi-speed data transfer and a host of personal and enterprise applications will undergo a phase-shift.

Air Force School celebrates annual sports day

Chandigarh: The Annual Sports Day of Air Force School 3BRD for the academic session 2013-14 was organised at 3 Base Repair Depot on Friday. Wing Commander Ashim Kapoor, Chief Administrative Officer 3BRD was the chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest took salute while the NCC cadets and the students of the four Houses namely Shivaji, Tagore, Ashoka and Gandhi House of the school carried out spectacular march past before the saluting dais.
