Woman killed by falling boulder amid heavy rain in Himachal's Mandi

A woman lost her life after being struck by a falling boulder near Aut in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district as continuous heavy rainfall triggered dangerous conditions across the region.
The victim, a resident of Nalagarh, was travelling with her family when they stopped near the Shani Temple after she felt unwell. As she stepped out of the vehicle, a large boulder rolled down the hillside and hit her, causing fatal injuries.
Police and district administration officials reached the spot soon after the incident. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination, and an investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. Authorities have urged people to avoid stopping near hillsides and landslide-prone areas, especially during heavy rainfall.
Persistent rain has disrupted normal life across Mandi district, with several roads blocked and power supply affected after numerous electricity transformers became non-functional.
The Beas River is also flowing above normal levels, prompting the district administration to issue advisories asking residents and tourists to stay away from riverbanks, streams and vulnerable stretches until weather conditions improve.
