West Bengal: 5 BJP workers injured in bomb blast near RG Kar victim’s mother’s house
5BJP workers were injured in a late-night bomb blast in the Panihati area of West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, police said.
The incident took place in a sensitive locality, close to the residence of newly elected BJP MLA Ratna Debnath, who is also the mother of the RG Kar Hospital rape victim.
According to police, the explosion occurred suddenly at night, injuring five party supporters present in the area. The injured were rushed for medical treatment, and an investigation has been launched to determine the source and nature of the blast.
Security has been tightened in the locality following the incident, given its proximity to a politically sensitive residence and recent electoral developments in the state.
Authorities have not yet confirmed who was behind the attack, and further inquiry is underway.
