Vijay to take oath as Tamil Nadu CM on May 7; Rahul Gandhi likely to attend ceremony

Vijay is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 7 in a high-profile ceremony at the Nehru Indoor Stadium.
The swearing-in event is expected to draw significant political attention, with Rahul Gandhi likely to attend, signalling growing ties between the Congress and Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
The Congress party, which secured five seats in the assembly elections, has extended support to TVK, helping strengthen its position to form the government. With TVK winning 108 seats, the alliance is close to the majority mark in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
Over 5,000 guests are expected at the ceremony, including newly elected legislators, party leaders, and prominent figures from across the political spectrum.
Sources indicate that representatives from other parties, including the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M), and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), may also be present or extend support, though their participation is yet to be officially confirmed.
The event is being seen as a significant political moment in Tamil Nadu, marking a new phase in the state’s leadership and alliance dynamics.
