Vice Chancellor conducts surprise check at IPU CET centres

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) Vice Chancellor (VC) Padma Shri Prof (Dr) Mahesh Verma conducted a surprise inspection of Common Entrance Test (CET) centres on Sunday to review examination arrangements and ensure strict compliance with academic standards.
The inspections were carried out while entrance examinations for several postgraduate and undergraduate programmes were underway at different university centres, despite the day being a Government holiday. The tests held on Sunday included MSc Environment Management, Para-Medical programmes, MSc Applied Geoinformatics, Master in Public Health, MEd and BSc Environment Science.
According to the university, the Vice Chancellor visited all CET centres personally while candidates were appearing for the examinations. Faculty members and staff on duty were reportedly taken by surprise during the inspection as the visit had not been announced in advance.
University officials said the inspection was aimed at monitoring examination procedures closely and ensuring that all arrangements were being conducted smoothly and transparently.
During the visit, Prof Verma reviewed the conduct of examinations, supervision arrangements and the functioning of examination centres. He interacted with officials involved in the examination process and assessed whether protocols were being followed properly.
Speaking on the inspection, the Vice Chancellor said the university maintains close monitoring of all important academic activities and remains committed to preserving the credibility of examinations.
“We closely observe every aspect related to the examination process. It is important to ensure that no lapse takes place and that the integrity of the system remains protected,” he said.
He said the university has maintained transparency and discipline in its entrance examination system for more than 25 years and would continue to uphold the same standards in future as well.
The university has been conducting entrance examinations for a wide range of programmes as part of the ongoing admission process for the upcoming academic session.
