Venezuela Earthquake: Death toll rises to 188 as rescue teams search through rubble for survivors

Venezuela is reeling after two powerful earthquakes struck the northern region of the country, leaving widespread destruction and a rising death toll.
According to officials, at least 188 people have died and more than 1,500 others have been injured, as rescue teams continue urgent operations to find survivors trapped under collapsed buildings.
The twin quakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, hit within seconds of each other on Wednesday evening, causing severe damage across multiple states including La Guaira, Carabobo, Aragua, and the capital region near Caracas.
Entire residential and commercial structures have been reduced to rubble, forcing thousands of residents to flee into the streets in panic as aftershocks continue to shake the region.

Emergency response teams, supported by international aid, are working round the clock to clear debris and locate survivors, while hospitals struggle to manage the growing number of injured people.
Authorities have declared a state of emergency as fears grow that the death toll may rise further in the coming days.
