UPSC aspirant robbed while returning from library, two arrested in Delhi

A 25-year-old UPSC aspirant was allegedly robbed of his mobile phone while returning home from a library in Delhi's Timarpur area. According to Delhi Police, two men intercepted the student near CNG Park in the early hours of July 6, allegedly assaulted him and fled with his phone. Following an investigation, police arrested the two accused and recovered the stolen mobile phone.
Police identified the accused as Rajender alias Kallu (28) and Upender Shah (25). Investigators analysed footage from nearly 110 CCTV cameras and conducted searches across Mukundpur before arresting the duo from their rented accommodation on July 10.
During questioning, the accused allegedly confessed to stealing a scooter that was later used in the robbery. Police recovered both the stolen scooter and the victim's mobile phone.
Officials said the arrests also helped solve four criminal cases, including robbery, snatching and vehicle theft. Police added that one of the accused has multiple previous criminal cases registered against him, while the investigation into the remaining offences is continuing.
