Twisha Sharma cremated in Bhopal after 12 days

Actor Twisha Sharma was cremated on Sunday, 12 days after her death under suspicious circumstances in Bhopal. The last rites were performed at Bhadbhada crematorium, where her brother, Major Harshit, lit the funeral pyre amid emotional scenes as family members broke down in grief.
Earlier in the day, a team of doctors from AIIMS Delhi conducted a second post-mortem examination on Twisha’s body at AIIMS Bhopal. The procedure lasted for nearly three hours, following which the medical team left for Delhi. Officials said samples and viscera collected during the examination have been preserved at AIIMS Bhopal, while the final report will be submitted in a sealed envelope.
Twisha Sharma died on the night of May 12 at her matrimonial home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area. While her in-laws have maintained that it was a case of suicide, her family has accused her husband and in-laws of murder and harassment. The case has now reached the Supreme Court, which has taken suo motu cognisance of the matter. A bench headed by the Chief Justice is scheduled to hear the case on Monday.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has already agreed to a CBI probe into the case amid growing public attention and demands for an impartial investigation. Meanwhile, Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh, was produced before a Bhopal district court on Saturday.
