Trump says Iran deal will be ‘Great and Meaningful’ or No Deal

Amid ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions in West Asia, US President Donald Trump said any potential agreement with Iran would either be a “great and meaningful” deal or there would be no deal at all.
“The deal with Iran will either be a great and meaningful one, or there will be no deal,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, signaling a firm negotiating stance as diplomatic talks continue.
The statement comes as U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested earlier that a breakthrough agreement to end the conflict could materialise within hours, noting that discussions with Iran had made significant progress, including proposals related to reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
However, Trump tempered expectations, stating that he had instructed negotiators not to rush the process, even as both Washington and Tehran indicated movement towards a possible understanding.
Iranian officials also acknowledged progress in talks but cautioned that an agreement was not imminent, saying several key issues still required further negotiation.
Meanwhile, regional tensions remain high, with reports of continued military escalation involving Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, further complicating the broader diplomatic landscape.
The developments highlight a fragile and uncertain moment in West Asia, where parallel military pressures and diplomatic negotiations are unfolding simultaneously.
