TMH organises training for Indian engineers on the Vande Bharat

At TMH (Transmashholding) facilities, training programs have been organized for Indian engineers working on the development of Vande Bharat electric trains, a rolling stock project being jointly produced by TMH and a local partner for Indian Railways.
This initiative represents the largest railway cooperation project between Russia and India. So far, 29 specialists have completed training at Metrovagonmash (MVM) and the Tver Carriage Works (TVZ) under a program conducted by TMH’s Corporate University. The training was organized at the request of Kinet Railway Solutions Ltd, a Russian-Indian joint venture and the project operator.
At MVM, Kinet specialists are familiarized with key metro carriage production technologies, including car body manufacturing, converters, electrical systems, and traction equipment.
At TVZ, they gain hands-on experience in assembling the “Ivolga” electric trains, covering assembly processes, creation of reference lines, logistics chain organization, bogie assembly, acceptance testing procedures, and best practices in operational system development. This training allows participants to directly observe advanced production technologies and high-quality standards achieved at TMH facilities.
The program also includes visits to the TMH Engineering office, which is responsible for developing new products for Transmashholding.
Training concludes with a final assessment to evaluate the participants’ understanding and mastery of the material.
The knowledge gained will be applied at the factory in Latur, India, which has been modernized under the Vande Bharat project and is in the final stages of preparation for electric train production.
The program was developed by TMH’s Corporate University, established in 2022 as a key platform for training personnel in high-tech industries.
Training international partners not only facilitates experience exchange but also strengthens global collaboration on large-scale projects. India’s railway modernization, one of the largest and busiest networks in the world, has entered a new phase with the Vande Bharat sleeper train program.
The new trains are expected to transform long-distance passenger transport in India. For Russian transport engineering, the project opens new opportunities and prospects for work in foreign markets.
The first prototype train is planned to be manufactured in 2026. Natalia Shishlakova, Vice President of TMH, emphasized: “International collaboration through educational programs has become an integral part of TMH’s business development strategy.
We organize internships at TMH production sites in Russia, invite specialists from other countries to our factories, and send our project teams abroad—to Uzbekistan and India, where TMH has partnerships and clients. This enables technology transfer: our experts export knowledge and experience, supporting client partners in service, production, and personnel training, while also enriching our own expertise.
Through this transfer, we gain not only insights into how our products function but also valuable experience in intercultural collaboration in the countries where we operate.”
