Three minors apprehended for sexually assaulting 7-year-old in Okhla

The Delhi Police on Saturday apprehended three minors in connection with the alleged inappropriate conduct involving a seven-year-old girl in South-East Delhi’s Okhla Industrial Area. The police managed to resolve the sensitive POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case within hours of receiving a distress call.
The incident came to light on March 14, 2024, when a PCR call was made to the Okhla Industrial Area police station. According to the victim’s statement, the distressing situation unfolded over two days: March 12 and 13. The seven-year-old girl reported that the three boys persuaded her to go to a godown near her residence in Okhla Phase-II during the daytime.
Once inside the secluded spot, the trio allegedly engaged in inappropriate behaviour towards her.
Upon receiving the call, a special police team was dispatched to the spot.
Recognising the sensitivity of the crime, a female police official was also brought in to assist with the inquiry and ensure the victim felt safe while recording her statement.
The three accused, aged between 12 and 13 years, were identified and taken into custody following a coordinated effort by the local police team. The victim was immediately rushed to AIIMS Hospital for a medical examination and is currently receiving necessary support.
