Three Arrested In Gurdaspur Grenade-Hurling Case, Foreign Link Under Probe

Punjab Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the grenade-hurling incident that took place in Gurdaspur district last month. The arrests were made by Gurdaspur Police in coordination with the Counter Intelligence wing during an extensive investigation into the case.
The arrested accused have been identified as Amarjit Singh alias Billa from Jalandhar, Karanjit Singh alias Karan and Satnam Singh from Amritsar. Police also recovered another hand grenade from the residence of one of the accused, Amarjit Singh, during the operation.
According to police officials, two unidentified individuals had hurled a hand grenade outside a shop near Geeta Bhawan Road in Gurdaspur on April 27. However, the grenade did not explode because its safety pin remained intact, preventing a major incident.
Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said investigations revealed that the accused were allegedly acting on instructions from a foreign-based handler and had received two hand grenades through the network.
Officials said the arrests were made using CCTV footage analysis, human intelligence and technical surveillance. Further investigations are underway to identify local support systems and international links, with police indicating that additional arrests and recoveries may follow.
